Meet our Embroiderer

And of course we couldn’t do a blog about our chef jackets, without mentioning the talent behind the embroidery…

Our very talented embroiderer, Linda, has worked with Paul Goodfellow (owner/Managing Director) for almost 30 years! Believe it or not, Linda started out in the Packing Room and jumped at the opportunity to learn a new skill!

“I wanted to learn something new,” Linda explains, “Paul used to do the embroidery on the chef jackets, so he taught me everything. Of course, it was a lot different 27 years ago, we had to use a disk and we didn’t have as many colours.”
Now the machines are so advanced, but there is an art to working them. “Some of the logo’s we do are a real challenge, especially when there is only a small space to work with, but it is all about playing around and getting it right. I personally love the more challenging logos, especially the ones for competitions where you have to line up several logos down the sleeve.”

However, embroidery is not just about logos and names. “We offer services that make it easier for chefs in the kitchen too, such as shortening your sleeves and adding pen-pockets.”
So after almost 30 years of perfecting the trade, we asked Linda if she still loves what she does, “I absolutely love it! I am so pleased I got the chance to do something new all those years ago!”
