Love at first sight. We know it sounds corny, but sometimes we discover a brand and we instantly fall in love. This is exactly what happened when we first spotted Mud Australia and now we are absolutely delighted to welcome this iconic brand to the G & G family!

There’s just something about Mud Australia, their style is so modern minimalist and artisan, which is different to anything else we have seen out there for hospitality. If you have never heard of this Australian brand before, then we guarantee you are about to fall head over Birkenstocks…

Founded in 1994, Mud Australia was designed by Shelley Simpson and combines handmade processes, clean lines, functionality and one of the most varied colour palettes we have ever seen in crockery! And what makes this brand truly unique (and here’s the really geeky part) is that the colour is tinted through the porcelain itself, not just on the surface like a typical glaze, which results in a beautiful super-matte finish and colours that really pop! Also, they are always keeping it fresh, evolving their ranges through the seasons, adding new colours and shapes.

Sleek, lightweight and robust, we know there is a place for Mud in the hospitality industry. With so many colours and shapes available (there is something for every type of dining style and cuisine), this gives chefs the choice to get really creative. And with colours so eye-popping, your food images will be more than Instagram-worthy!

Our favourite glaze has to be ‘Bottle’. Not only does this rich and deep colour go with the interior of our loft-style showroom beautifully, but we also envision this colour to be an Autumn/Winter must-have! When it comes to shapes, Mud do a great range of bowls that are great for rice and pasta dishes as well as sides and dips. Because they offer a range of sizes too, it makes it a great option for tapas and sharing-style dining. We encourage you to get creative with this brand and mix and match colours and shapes – the bolder the better!!
