The Royal Wedding is fast approaching (19th May to be exact – quick, scribble that date in your diary). We’ve noticed restaurants and hotels around the country are gearing up for the big event, from Royal Afternoon Teas to Special Menu’s – it is the perfect excuse to get people together and have a party!
As you know, we love special occasions here at G & G, not only because we get to experiment with different styles and looks but also because we love a party – you’ll know if you’ve ever been to one of our celebrations at our London showroom!
As the Royal Wedding is such a special occasion and a major date in our country’s diary, we thought we would put some ideas together to help with this royal occasion..
Royal Patterns
Are you putting together a special menu to mark the Royal Wedding? We love Royal Worcester, not just because it is a truly iconic British Bone China brand but because they have just released their Tranquillity collection and we are in love!
It features a gold and etch bird and branch pattern that just oozes sophistication – perfect for any royal feast!
Shop our Tranquillity range here.
Classical Edge
If patterns aren’t your thing or you are looking for something simple and classic to complement your Royal Menu then you can’t go wrong with Bona China.
Our Narumi brand oozes simple sophistication and underlying quality. It also offers a variety of shapes and styles that suit any type of food. From its simple Cool Coupe shape that allows your food to take centre stage but also gives you plenty of room to get really creative to their ever-popular Esprit range, which features a textured edge that frames food perfectly. Browse our whole Narumi collections here.
However, it is their new additions that we are particularly fond of – their Chef Plates, which includes Forest and Shower designs. These are two new styles that are causing quite the stir in the chef world! They tick all the boxes – they are simple, they are classic and they also feature a unique matt pattern design around the edge, adding an understated modern twist to any dish. Shop here.
Changing Shape
Afternoon Tea is so very British. We have mentioned in an earlier blog that years ago Afternoon Tea was once enjoyed as a pass-time for the upper classes, now it is a huge part of British heritage and culture and also a huge part of the hospitality industry. People flock to hotels and restaurants to enjoy Afternoon Teas as a celebration, it is also a major tourist attraction.
We can’t think of a better way to celebrate the Royal Wedding than with beautiful pastries and a cup of tea (and glass of champers, of course!)
If you are hosting a special Royal Afternoon Tea then you have to make it different to your usual Afternoon Tea service. Not only does the food have to be extra special but so does how you serve it.
Of course, Bone China is always the go-to for Afternoon Tea because of its quality and sophisticated look. Check out our Afternoon Tea shop here.
However, we want to gently nudge you into trying something a little different. We love this gold stand. Not only does the colour stand out (surely you can’t get more opulent than gold?) but so does the shape – be brave and move away from the traditional round shape. Shop here.
Whatever look you are trying to achieve, we can certainly help! This is just a taste of some of the ideas floating around our creative heads! Why not get in touch and we can discuss ideas together?
