After spending over 6 wonderful years at our ‘Plate Cave’ showroom in Baker Street, as you have probably heard (or seen on social media) we have now moved to a brand new location at 20 Little Portland Street!
We opened our iconic copper door (yes, we brought our famous door with us!) at Little Portland Street on Monday 11th June after a very hard week moving and fitting everything. Our London team worked hard long into the night and over the weekend, putting together finishing touches to make the showroom perfect for its first day of business!
Check out the below transformation images!! As you can see below, it took a lot of hard work to turn the space into a plate paradise!
And after all of that hard work, our very first visitor arrived at 8.30am on the dot!! We just love how keen and excited our customers are to visit our showroom, it makes all the hard work worth it, especially to see your faces light up when you walk through that copper door!
Sorry for being a little bit corny, but can you blame us? Moving showroom was the end of an era but the start of a new chapter for us.
Our collections just keep on growing and we desperately needed more space!! Sometimes we would have so many people in our Baker Street showroom at one time that we would have to coordinate how and when we moved from section to section! Also, when Galvin closed their Bistrot above us, we felt that it was time to move on! So, we found our new spot at 20 Little Portland Street and its nothing but up from here!
As with everything we do, we put our heart and soul into the design of the new showroom. We not only wanted it to be bigger and better in size, but also in style too. And we think we have created something truly outstanding…but we will let you decide that for yourself when you come and visit!
So, what can you expect? The showroom will still house an incredible selection of the best tableware in hospitality, but now we can show you more from your most-loved brands but also new collections too. We have also created different areas that will appeal to hotels, restaurants and caterers of all kinds. That’s all we want to reveal for now, we don’t want to ruin the surprise! We have so much innovation in the pipeline and it is so exciting to start with a whole new way of displaying what we do.
As always, we like to celebrate our continued success and thank our customers for making it possible. We will be throwing an official launch party on the 19th June from 3pm. As well as showing off our new space, we will be serving Little Portland pies by Calum Franklin and sweet treats by Claire Clark. We have even created our own Little Portland ale for the occasion! Party goers can also enjoy other drinks and snacks too – we know how to throw a party at G & G!
After the manic rush of the first week of the opening almost over, we caught up with our lovely MD’s Paul & Valda, to see what they think about everything that is happening at Goodfellows, ‘we could not have achieved this incredible growth without the support of our friends, customers and team. They drive us on to keep ahead of the competition and this move marks a really important stage in our development. We have some very big plans and we intend to build on the service we offer to customers, which has differentiated us from the competition in this difficult market. We are always looking at how to improve, innovate and inspire.’
Don’t miss the biggest event in G & G history! Get your tickets for our Move Party here. See you there!
