We’ve gone a bit cocktail mad here at G & G! It all started the other night when we went for an after work tipple (it was a glorious day, that’s our excuse!) and the first thing we noticed was the cocktail menu. Warm weather plus an ice-cold cocktail, the perfect combination!
There was everything from your traditional Negroni to Wimbledon inspired cocktails such as Strawberry Rossinis and Bellinis. They all looked so tempting, we wanted to try them all (maybe if it wasn’t a school night, we might have!)
London’s No.1 Cocktail
There was one particular cocktail that stuck out though and that was the famous Aperol Spritz! This cocktail features on so many drink menus across London bars and restaurants, which got us thinking…is this THE London summer cocktail? It is certainly having its moment right now!
So, we started experimenting with different ways you could present your cocktails, which we must admit was a lot of fun, as we got to make and taste the cocktails too!
We absolutely love Wormwood glassware! This is a new sophisticated range from Italian glassware specialist, Italasse. You can choose from a clear glass or a frosted etched pattern – we prefer the patterned for cocktails as this looks absolutely amazing against a colourful cocktail (as you will see in our pictures!)
For the Aperol Spritz, we went for the patterned Galante Glass – this gives you plenty of room to fill the glass with ice and top with garnish! We finished ours with a wedge of orange and a sprig of Rosemary, it went down very nicely, cheers!
The Traditionalist
Who doesn’t love a Negroni? It’s stronger (a lot!!) than the Aperol Spritz, but it is the perfect aperitif! And soooo sophisticated. We decided to present ours in the Wormwood’s patterned Rock-Gobbler.
We think it looks amazing in this glass, something different, rather than using a traditional tumbler.
Pretty Combination
The tennis season is all about strawberries and champagne, just put them together to make the prettiest of cocktails. Served in Wormwood’s patterned Gallone jug and Astoria glass – it’s Ace! We love this jug so much, we even took it home!
We hope our summer cocktails have inspired you! Why not get in touch for more information, or you can shop Italesse glassware here.
We raise our cocktail glass with a ‘cheers’ and we promise to keep the inspiration coming!
