The rush of Table is over and we can finally reflect on just how amazing the whole experience was!
Firstly, we would like to thank everyone who came to visit us at the show and everyone who helped us make our wacky vision into reality – Mepra, Figgjo and of course, our Talent for Tableware candidates (read on to find out more about these lovely people).
Setting the Stage
In case you missed it, we exhibited at Table on 14th, 15th & 16th January at Pillar Hall, Olympia. It was the first trade show of its kind in the UK, dedicated to design-led F & B experts, so we were so excited and honoured to be asked to be a part of it!
Pillar Hall, where the show took place, is Olympia’s hidden gem and complement our quirky ‘SteamPunk’ theme perfectly.
“The hall where were located was such a beautiful building,” said Ella Clark, who is part of our London team and was at the show from start to finish, “it made the show feel very personal, which reflects the type of service we like to offer our customers.”
Our theme was a little risky, but we think it worked. “Our table was certainly a labour of love,” said Elly Gimbel, who is also part of our London team and worked closely putting the show together, “we spent two full days setting up the stand to make sure it was perfect. We were really proud of it once we were finished and we got some amazing feedback from visitors!”
We didn’t just dress our table with tableware, we also used props and decorations to bring our theme to life and set the stage. “Ella, coming from a floristry background, did an incredible flower display which brought our faded glamour/ steam punk look together,” said Elly.
We have shared some images of our stand in this blog – we would love to know what you think!
Talent for Tableware
As well as our spectacular tableware stands, we also put together a stand called #TalentforTableware.
A few months ago we started a campaign to search for the best ceramists, designers and craft producers out there. We wanted to dedicate one of our stands to Talent for Tableware because we love working with creative people and believe we can help them market to the hospitality industry.
This stand generated a lot of interest and we look forward to collaborating with each Talent for Tableware candidate in the very near future.
In case you missed it, here is a bit more about these creative, talented people…
Linda Bloomfield
Linda Bloomfield has been a potter for over 30 years and designs and makes porcelain tableware in her West London studio. She has an impressive client-base, working with Café Bar in the Royal Albert Hall, Luca Restaurant and Nobu Restaurant.
We love Linda’s reactive glaze products in matt black, grey and white, which she made exclusively for us. We look forward to seeing what other reactive glazes she comes up with!
Tin Parade
After 16 years planning and designing weddings in Los Angeles, Ryan Larson is now the founder of Tin Parade, a party-gift-home company.
Tin Parade’s goods have been sold in fashionable boutiques across North America and beyond. We look forward to introducing her designs to the UK.
Billy Lloyd
Billy Lloyd is an award-winning designer of ceramics. He collaborates with international retailers, restaurants, designers, a architects and luxury brands.
Billy truly is a talented designer and we were honoured for him to show his unique collection he design specifically for Table and will be sold exclusively through us.
The Stone Notebook
The Stone Notebook is a collaboration between UK notebook makers Bookblock and a team of professionals from the Food and Restaurant industry.
The Chef’s Notebook main feature is its stone paper that is water and grease proof. It is available in black, red and tan with the option to personalise. These will be sold exclusively through us!
Muddy Fingers
Believe it or not we met Marv & Diane (the people behind Muddy Fingers) at a Farmers Market in the North East. Since then, they have created some really outstanding pieces for us.
We just had to showcase their new upside down range at Table, which will be sold exclusively through us! You can also see more from Muddy Fingers here.
Caskata
Caskata are a dedicated group of design driven artisanal manufacturers making beautiful, practical products for the table.
They do things the old-fashioned hands-on way, making each piece truly special. Their collections will be sold exclusively through Goodfellow & Goodfellow Ltd.
Thalass
Thalass is the art of glass-making, created by Alessandro Di Rosa in Modic.
We chose Thalass because their products were like nothing we have seen before, especially in glassware. There is also the option to personalise certain pieces, so you can create your own work of art. These will be sold exclusively through us.
Watch this space, as you will be seeing more from our Talent for Tableware candidates!
After-Thought
So, after what can only be described as a manic whirlwind, how do we feel about Table and would we consider doing something like this again?
“It was a great experience and we had so much fun putting together the concept,” said Ella, “I look forward to planning the next one!”
“I agree, it was a great experience,” added Elly, “we met some amazing people and had incredible feedback from visitors. We were pretty exhausted after the pack down, but we can honestly say it was all worth it!”
Great to be a part of your Talent for Tableware booth. We are excited to collaborate with you.
It was great to have you there Ryan! Your napkin wraps are absolutely stunning! Looking forward to working with you.
Thank you for having me on the stand. It was great to meet you.
